Tessa Hadley published her first work of fiction, Accidents in the Home, at the age of 45, three months after her critical study Henry James and the Imagination of Pleasure came out. A second novel, Everything Will Be All Right, was published the following year, in 2003. She teaches English and creative writing at Bath Spa University College and is currently working on a third novel and on a play, The Wendy House, for BBC Radio. Her most recent New Yorker story, "Mother's Son", appeared in the August 30 issue.Tobias Wolff is the author of two memoirs; This Boy's Life, which won a Los Angeles Times Book Prize for Biography and was adapted for film, and In Pharaoh's Army: Memories of the Lost War. He's also written a novella, The Barracks Thief, which won a PEN / Faulkner Award for Fiction; three short-story collections, among them The Night in Question; and a novel, Old School, parts of which first appeared in The New Yorker.
